Research and practice of online and offline mixed course of Grassland Ecology and Resource Survey in the background of transformation of planting structure ——A case of Nanjing Agricultural University

  • In the transition period of China’s crop production industry, grassland ecology and resource investigation practical courses can no longer meet the demand for innovation for the rapid development of grassland animal husbandry in southern agricultural areas. Therefore, the present study examines the “Grassland Ecology and Resource Investigation Internship” course at Nanjing Agricultural University as an example. The authors propose an online and offline mixed teaching mode based on virtual simulation technology, focusing on the requirements of innovative agriculture and applied skills, and trends in modern higher education informatization. By constructing a course network resource platform, the virtual simulation training is integrated into the investigation of natural grassland resources in the southern region and ecological investigations in agricultural, forestry, and animal husbandry mixed patterns, exploring an integrated teaching model of taking the real with the virtual, helping the real with the virtual, and deep interaction, which not only increases the intuitive, interactive, and exploratory nature of teaching, but also “extends” the internship periods and expands the scope of professional knowledge. Additionally, the research-based assessment is used to comprehensively evaluate the internship effect of students, guide and stimulate student interest for knowledge, cultivate student innovation and practical skills, and adapt to requirements of first-class grassland personnel training in the transition period of the crop production industry.
