Exploration and practices of bilingual teaching of Plant Physiology of the Pratacultural Science major under the background of “Double First-Class” construction: Case study of the Pratacultural Science major at Lanzhou University

  • Bilingual teaching is an objective requirement for the internationalization of higher education under the background of “Double First-Class” construction in China. As a foundation course in the Pratacultural Science major, the Plant Physiology course plays an important role in the cultivation of international and innovative talent in the Pratacultural Science major. Therefore, implementing bilingual teaching is an inevitable trend in the reformation of the Plant Physiology course. Taking the exploration and practices of bilingual teaching of Plant Physiology in the Pratacultural Science major at Lanzhou University as an example, in this study, we summarized the reform measures in the bilingual teaching of Plant Physiology course from the aspects of team construction, the selection of original textbooks in a foreign language and Chinese reference textbooks, and the teaching practices in bilingual teaching. We also proposed an online-offline hybrid teaching mode that could improve students’ comprehensive competence and cultivate their learning interests. This study aims to provide a reference for innovative teaching reform in other courses of the Pratacultural Science major under the background of “Double First-Class” construction.
